According to L W Reynolds there is mention of St Botolphs Chapel (but no evidence of parochial use) in both the History of Norfolk 1805 Francis Blomefield Vol and History and Antiquities of The County of Norfolk 1781 M J Armstrong. From a visit in January 2002 sources indicated that there was a chapel here dedicated to St Botolph on the corner of Pious Drove and Town Street. I was told that this was demolished about 1890-1900. The parish church is dedicated to St Peter and is worth a visit. More information may be available in the museum in Wisbech. |
